The Village Clerk and Administrative Assistant are always available during office hours to answer questions and serve the needs of the residents. You may call the clerk to be put on the agenda for a board meeting. As always, board meetings are open to the public. We welcome your concerns and suggestions. The Village Clerk’s office is responsible for maintaining custody of the Village seal, books, records and papers. The Village Clerk is the official clerk of the Board of Trustees and the Administrative Assistant is the official clerk for the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals. They are responsible for preparing agendas and maintaining an indexed compilation of minutes from the Boards.
The Office of the Village Clerk is the primary point of contact when telephoning or visiting the Village of Central Square’s Administrative Office. The Clerk’s Office maintains a record of all local laws. The Village Clerk is responsible for responding to requests for access to public records. Pursuant to the provisions of the Freedom of Information Law, the Village charges $0.25 per page for copying of public records.The Clerk is also authorized to administer the Oath of Office to village officers.
Village Office Closed For Holidays:
The Village Employees are off on the following holidays and therefore our offices are closed: New Years Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday, Washington’s Birthday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. If a holiday falls on a Saturday, the holiday will be taken on the preceding Friday. If the holiday falls on a Sunday the Holiday will be taken on the following Monday.
